CASA AZUL BEACH HOUSE

Rules and Guidelines

Telephone:  To have access to the telephone, please bring an international telephone calling card. You may call collect from the telephone, but can't dial direct internationally. Local calls are free.

Internet: In Tamarindo “downtown” are several Internet Cafes.

Smoking: Please refrain from smoking in the bedrooms. If you must smoke, we ask that you do so in the living areas and/or patios.

Electricity/ Water: Taking care of ecology and nature, we ask that you obey the following guidelines in regards to conserving energy: Please take care to turn off the air-conditioning when not in use. This is very costly to run, and we prefer that you do not waste electricity by running the air-conditioning unnecessarily. Also, please turn off lights, stereo, and television, when not in use. The electricity goes off occasionally. Your accommodation is equipped with a flashlight located in the kitchen pantry, and also candles and matches.
In Tamarindo, especially in the dry season, water is a precious resource. The water in town frequently goes off. We have a large reserve tank, but to preserve this we request that you not take overly long showers. Put your laundry in the basket to be washed if it is not dirty, or otherwise waste water.

Environmental Issues:  Please do not flush any paper down the toilet, place in the wastebaskets located next to the toilet. Also, make sure nothing except liquids, i.e. no oils, grease, food scraps, bones, paper, etc. go down any of the sink drains.

Employees: Yorley the maid and Randy the gardener are working during the week and please feel free to ask them if you have any needs or questions.

Laundry: If you will want laundry done, please make arrangements when you check in. Laundry is $5 per load.

Tips: If you would like to leave a tip for the maid or gardener when you check out please put it into the “piggy bank”.

Drinking water: The tap water is perfectly safe to drink. If you prefer bottled water, however, it is available at the supermarkets and most restaurants in town.

Stove: If you run out of gas please inform the gardener or the maid, and they'll replace it for you.

Television:  Casa Azul has Direct TV satellite television and VCR for your enjoyment. The Tree House and the Beachfront Apartment have Cable TV. It is very easy to use, and offers a wide variety of American and international programs. Please take care that the remote control units do not get lost!

Music: Each accommodation is equipped with CD, MC-Radio Player.

Security: When you leave the house, please make sure all doors are closed and locked, both the doorknob lock, and dead bolt. Also, when you leave the house, put all your valuables away.
Another security tip, when you go to the beach or restaurants, etc. don't leave any valuables in your car. And when you go swimming, don't leave your wallet, camera, etc. sitting on your towel unsupervised. As the saying goes, "better safe than sorry"!

Neighbors: There are neighboring homes on both the North and South sides of Casa Azul, (called Casa del Mar, and Casa Cook), so please take care not to be too noisy and disturb them, i.e. playing overly loud music, etc.

Activities: For activities in Tamarindo, please look at the guest information manual. It contains a list of restaurants, bars, activities, and where to find them. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Most Important: HAVE FUN

We appreciate your cooperation and support in following these rules and guidelines. We hope you enjoy your stay, and will come back and visit again sometime.
