Tours
Our most popular ride, the Cantina Tour, is a real Guanacaste cultural experience. We find out of the way places with good 'bocas', cold drinks and low prices for our rest stops. Ride the beautiful oxcart trails and visit small towns with a flavor of the old west. See howler monkeys and learn about the natural and cultural history of Guanacaste. Riders return year after year to experience this adults only tour. Tours usually start about 3:30 in the afternoon and return about 6 with a beautiful ride home by moon or starlight. Family tours also available.

Fiestas
From the end of November to the end of July is Fiesta Time Costa Rica. Every weekend traditional small town fiestas feature bull riding, traditional foods and dance. Horses abound, from Guanacaste cowboys to residents and visitors riding a variety of Costa Rica horse breeds. Costa Rican pasos offer a smooth highstepping ride. Excellent horses available for all riding abilities. Your horse will be waiting for you at the fiesta.

Topes
Sundays from 50-500 horse enthusiasts meet for the colorful Topes or horse parades and fiestas. Anyone can join in the festivities as a band leads the high stepping horses through town to the fiesta. After the parade, riders and their guests are treated to a reception with traditional food, drinks and music. Later riders join the fiesta to watch the bulls on horseback or can ride through the surrounding countryside. Half day rentals by arrangement, all ages and riding levels welcome, a real Costa Rican cultural experience.

Natural History Tour
Guanacaste's dry tropical forest is one of most endangered ecosystems in the world. Your professional guides, Kay (shown here with Chi Chi, a resident howler monkey) and Esteban, will introduce you to the unique plants and animals of the region as well as the colorful culture of the Guanacastecos. Kay is a Ph.D. in Biology and Ecology originally from Michigan and Esteban, her husband, a Zootecnista born in Guanacaste. The two hour early morning or late afternoon tours leisurely travel back roads and small towns surrounding the finca.
