Tamarindo, Costa Rica

Weekly Surf Report
April 3, 2012

National Forecast
Caribbean Coast - East swell without enough push to keep it overhead past tomorrow, plan for surf slowly dropping down to waist high by next Monday, with another round of Easterly waves by next Friday.

Pacific Coast - Double whammy swells looked impressive last week, but don't show the punch. Still, with a 17 second period and foot overhead sets arriving Friday from the Southwest and some extra sets from the WSW, expect some freak bigger sets and lots of waves in each set, settling down Sunday morning with a foot smaller waves, and back to chest to head high by Tuesday.

The Long Shot - No wave drought expected for Easter week, but nothing big coming either. Get the best waves at the right tide and time (onshores are coming in around 10 a.m.) The next swell comes from the West with head high sets by next Saturday afternoon, and joining it some more overhead SW swell by Sunday (4/8).

Local Forecast
From Rafa at Witch's Rock Surf Camp -
Small waves and onshore wind today in Tamarindo. The condition were decent to be relaxing on the beach or take the longboard and having fun on the water. With some shoulder sizes on the set the waves was breaking better at the river mouth and Pico Grande and Pico Pequeño with some open rides (left and right) nice day to surf in Tamarindo.
