 WAYRA Instituto de Español specializes in teaching Spanish to foreign students and residents. Centrally located in Tamarindo and just 150 meters from the beach, the main building has spacious classrooms with large open windows facing tropical gardens. Set in the gardens are several small ranchos which are used as outdoor classrooms.
WAYRA has developed its own classroom methodology. Our textbook is designed to accelerate the learning process of Spanish. Additionally, we incorporate materials from various conversational text sources. This results in an eclectic system which enables the student to learn Spanish as quickly as possible with special attention paid to individual learning styles and modalities.In the classroom we make learning an enjoyable natural process. Teachers encourage debate, conversation and exchange of ideas, to promote critical thinking and verbal skills. Games, video and music are frequently used in the classrooms.

| Outdoor activities, such us walks in the nature, visit to the beach to interact with the local community or excursions to neighboring towns, are used to practice and to learn more about ecology, economy and culture of Costa Rica. |

The Program
* Courses start Mondays.
* Minimum stay is one week.
* Groups are small, with an average of 3 to 4 students, and a max. of 6 students per classroom.
* According to their progress, students may be moved to different groups during the program to maximize learning.
* Morning sessions start at 8:00 am and end at 12:00 noon.
* Afternoon sessions start at 12:30 PM and end at 4:30 PM.
* WAYRA will determine whether students attend morning or afternoon sessions.
* Instruction is entirely in Spanish, and each week a specific grammatical sequence is presented. |
